This week we will be reading the story "Rocks in His Head". This story is a biography. We will be focusing on summarizing and sequencing this week. Each student will be given a page from our story to read and then write a summary of their assigned page. The students will then read their summary and work as a class to sequence the story. I am also asking each student to bring in a rock from home. We will be doing several activities with the rock and then make a pet rock.
In writing, we will be taking a timed writing test and begin working on a biography project. The students are still working on their piece for the PBS writing contest.
In math, we will be reviewing making change from a dollar and elapsed time. These are very difficult skills, and I would like to go back and review these skills. I am including a link to some games so your students can practice at home. I am also including a link to a site that includes flashcards for practice with math facts.
Please remember to look at the spring picture sample sent home last week. If you would like to order, please complete the form and send the form and money to school as soon as possible. Because of the short week, we will not have a Monday folder this week. Have a wonderful week.
